It’s the kind of writing where there are too many sentences that begin with pronouns where prepositional phrases or conjunctions would go a long way in making the writing more seamless so a paragraph doesn’t read like a list but one immersive event.

I also had to check the description multiple times while reading to ensure this is a RH when there’s insta-acceptance and protectiveness but no overt attraction? It was almost uncomfortable to have them all pursue other relationships and felt like infidelity, even if it’s just to their future selves based on the romantic relationship development we’re anticipating.

Wow. That was beautifully written. 5 stars

⭐ didn't like/DNF
⭐⭐ was okay but I probably won't look for any sequels
⭐⭐⭐ it was good I'll likely read the next one
⭐⭐⭐⭐ I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great and I'll definitely be looking for any sequels
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I loved it so much I'm adding it to my cart to buy paperback

This will eventually be a reverse harem however we aren't there yet. There's no Romance at least not yet. The biys and Lexie had an instant best friends feel.

The boys personalities are beautiful. Rory (Lexies uncle) is amazing, my age may be showing a little (okay I'm not old I'm only 25 but still) sign me up for Rory haha.

Lexie has a troubled past. After facing an abusive relationship with her mother that leads her to the hospital her uncle takes full custody. She meets the boys and starts to learn one of the hardest lessons for someone of her past. Not everyone leaves. And how it feels to be cared for and loved.

I really enjoyed this book. It didn’t really reach romance stage being as at the very end the boys made a pact not to date the FMC - because she is their best friend. It is well written with a good story. Ghosts rather than magic.

DID NOT FINISH: 70%

a bit boring, not in the mood to finish
adventurous dark emotional funny lighthearted mysterious sad tense slow-paced

Just no. A resounding no. Too many editing problems for a 4 plus $ ebook. And the plot was meh

I love it.

Is this truly an almost three star book? No.
Did I need to restart this series for the third time? Also, no.
Is my unhealthy obsession with Miles my driving factor each time I restart these? Yes.
Would I sell my soul to be able to rip him from the pages of these books and into my life? Also yes.

For the actual book review, this one is pretty trash lol. This is much like ACOTAR for me in that the books themselves are 2-3 stars, but the series as a whole is 5. I truly wish I could give each book 5 stars from the pure nostalgic joy alone, but the writing in the first two specifically just don’t deserve that. It does make vast improvements, which I need to remind myself of every time Lexie starts to describe every facial expression and outfit of each character in excruciating detail. And I’m talking from undergarments to outer gloves and scarfs level descriptions. No thread will be left unnoticed if Lexie has anything to do with it. I do have to give some grace to the author though. I’m sure editing resources are never easily accessible for the first book in a series, and I do think everyone should give these a chance.

This technically is a RH (aka, my personal dream

Was this perfect? No. Did I roll my eyes many a time? Yes. Did I enjoy the ride and blast my way through this? Absolutely.

Onto the next!

I liked this one. The premise is very interesting. I liked Lexie, I can relate to girls who hang out mainly with boys. I also liked her sense of humor and how she was though but didn’t hide her feelings and affections. I liked the boys as well. The ending, for me, was a disappointment. I felt like the first half of the book had more action than the ending? The action returned at 95% of the book and then rushed towards the end so fast I was confused. The in between consisted of ordinary things (which I think is importante to the storytelling, but not so much that you feel the story isn’t going anywhere). I missed more of the boys POV as well. But in spited of all of that, it was a good book.

Also, I take it this is a very very VERY slow burn?
