Many unbelievable/over the top moments with just somewhat likable characters. I was engaged through out the majority of the book, but hoped for more.

I’m going to read every book by John Marra! Be careful with them, once you start you can’t stop!! I adored the little nods to The One (best book I’ve read so far this year) in this story.
Fans of Black Mirror, dont miss this book!!!!!

"'When people are part of a mob, they stop being individuals, their inhibitions disappear, they don't follow their normal moral compass...when they're surrounded by like-minded people, they don't see themselves as violent individuals; it's the group that's responsible for the violence, not them personally.'"
Wowwww. This book should be called MOB MENTALITY. I'm reeling from it even a full day after finishing. The premise is this: it's the future and the U.K. has banned all human-driven cars. All cars are driverless, no steering wheels or breaks, nothing. All is going along until 8 strangers find themselves hostages inside their vehicles, hacked and on camera for the world to see. Their panic is broadcast via social media not only for entertainment, but also to determine who gets to be the lone survivor. One by one you meet the passengers, each has their own unique story and their own unique secrets. It touched a lot on human nature themes, the power of social media, and public opinion.
It felt like a futuristic version of a who-dun-it but that ending was like wham-bam whiplash! I thoroughly enjoyed this, it was highly entertaining and I could see it being an action packed movie as I read. Pick this one up, especially if you like fast-paced, twisty turns, and just a thrill. I will never look at driving the same and likely will never ever ever get in an automated vehicle
Legit una dintre cele mai bune cărți Citite de mine în acest an. N-am mai dat de ceva vreme un 5⭐️ curat.
O carte care m-a înfricoșat, dar și întristat, ce are multe întorsături de situație.

Slow start but fantastic story and cute ending with a good ol’ fashion taste of justice served. Dystopian futuristic way of life had me immersed. Had me rooting for certain characters and then author gave massive twists. Had me AUDIBLY gasping!!

4.5 loved this book, the ending honestly wasn’t satisfying for me though. libby and alex’s meeting was strange and libby and matthew ending up together was cliche. i think if the book was like 50 pages shorter, it’d be perfect
