Wow. What a twist of a story. This book goes deep into what families are capable of doing to each other, and the lasting ramifications of those decisions. How one bad decision sets a course of the lives to follow.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC.

OMG this book !!!

It was my first book, from this author and I absolutely Loved it!! I really don't have words to describe how good was this book. It had me hooked from the very beginning, and I couldn't put it down because I had to know what would happen next !
Sometimes I was so confused I didn't know what to believe anymore, but one of my guesses was right. Michael was a shady and shitty person, omg he should've died.
This story was really really good, everything made sense in the end.
I wish this book had a continuation, because I need a pov just for Daniel, omg he was really fucked up, but his character omg!!

Thank you so much bookouture and netgalley for the opportunity to read this awesome book, in exchange for a honest review.

I really loved it.

P.s: I'm sorry if my review have any misspelled words or sentences, but English isn't my first language.

4.25⭐
Genre ~ domestic thriller
Publication date ~ July 24, 2023
Page Count ~ 346
Audio length ~ 9 hours 40 minutes
Narrator ~ Heather Long
POV ~ single 1st & 3rd
Featuring ~ dual timeline ~ now & then, flashbacks, abduction, infidelity, secrets, lies

Sarah's 4 year old daughter, Abigail, goes missing while the family is on holiday. Flash forward almost 14 years later and a girl named, Abi, shows up at the police station claiming she is Abigail.

Sarah narrates in the 1st and Abi in the 3rd, and we also have some chimes ins from someone unknown to the reader.

All along the way tiny breadcrumbs will be dropped and you'll follow them and think you know where you're headed. Psych! I had no clue where this was going. It was fast paced and twisty with quite a tense conclusion, just how I like my thrillers. That's all I'm saying about this one. I'll for sure read more of Lauren's work.

Four-year-old Abigail Wick disappeared while on a family vacation. Fourteen years later, a 17-year-old shows up, claiming to be Sarah and Michael Wick’s missing daughter. While the rest of the family is quick to accept her back in their lives, Sarah has her doubts.

Told from the POV of Sarah, Abi, and a mystery person, with timelines from ‘then’ and ‘now,’ I flew through this book. I had my suspicions about what happened but was surprised by the twist.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

The back and forth had me hooked! I kept thinking I knew what was going on and boy was I wrong. I flew through this book so fast as I couldn't put it down. I wanted to know more. I wanted answers as if I was going through this in my life. In the end who I thought was behind everything was not who I assumed it was. This was a great book and I look forward to more from this author!
