3.5 actually. Good and engaging for what it was. Heartwarming. Touching on common truths.
This book is beautiful,I enjoyed reading. It is so light and soothing, it simply relaxes you.
In this story we meet three main characters and each of them has a separate story. What unites them is the loss. Each of them has lost someone and here we see the ways in which each of them heals their deeply imprinted wounds.
After the death of her husband, Jo Marie Rose is looking for a new life in the small town of Cedar Cove. There she buys a boarding house and starts catering. The pension is called Rose Harbor.
The pension is visited by different people. The first guest is Joshua Weaver who came to this town to take care of a sick stepfather with whom he is not on good terms. The other guest is Abby Kincaid who comes to her brother's wedding, but in this city she has painful memories.
The stories behind each character are composed very nicely and in detail. Jo Marie is my favorite and I can’t wait to see further developments in her life.

A sweet and heartwarming book filled with likable characters that takes place in the charming town of Cedar Cove. I loved getting to know Jo Marie who moves to Cedar Cove to open up an inn she purchased after losing her husband. Her first two guests arrive and each is on a different journey. There are themes of healing, friendship, forgiveness, and new beginnings. I look forward to continuing the series.
Once in awhile I like a fluffy, mindless romance book. This book was certainly that. It was very predictable and the charachters were clique and sappy. We were told from the first page to the last that Josh didn't get along with his stepfather and that Abbey was afraid that no one in the town she grew up in would ever forgive her for a high school accident. This was pounded into us with a 2 x 4. When I was finished I felt like I had wasted my time. I gave the book two stars because it was clean, which I appreciaated.
Such a sweet story. I love how the 3 characters were brought together with the Inn but each had their own story and their own journey to healing.
Great gentle read. I may have to go back and read the Cedar Cove Series since some of the characters make appearances in this one.
I didn't expect to enjoy this much, and my expectations were met.
