The first half of this one was a lot better than the second one. I really liked seeing the medical journey Maomao was going on, that was something I was hoping for since the third volume I think lol I also liked that we got to see a bit more of Jinshi, but that was kind of it for this volume. The rest just felt like filler and prep for what's to come in the next volume.

I do have to say I like Rikuson, and I've been wondering where he's been this whole time, so it was nice to see him. Chue is sort of breaking the streak of good new characters, she's a bit too quirky for my taste, which is making me think she's not at all what she appears to be (aka she reminds me of Shisui, a character I don't actually like all that much).

This would be an average 3 star, but the last chapter???? Oh my god FINALLY THAT'S what I'm TALKING about!!!!!! Maomao should have kept going until Jinshi couldn't handle it anymore because that's the kind of shit he deserves lol I do like how he seems to have mellowed out from the last few volumes, and he feels like he's back to being normal again. He's finally going from unhinged man (derogatory) to unhinged man (affectionate) lol

Although, he's not beating the masochist allegations anytime soon lmao

I like that Maomao has been able to continue her medical training. Most of the time Lahan annoys me, but he actually has an interesting side that's worth listening to. Maomao discovers that she **might actually** have friends, along with the benefits of team work. She's reunited with our favourite quack, ventures to the West again with Jinshi, and embarks on an education that, unfortunately, makes her dad (Luomen) sad. And Chue is hilarious.
