It's been a while since I've gotten a book from botm that I've truly loved, but this one has broken that streak! This was my first Abby Jiminez book and I seriously don't know what has taken me so long to try her books.

I loved both of our main characters. While they came from different worlds many of the pressures they faced were the same with the expectations other people had of them. Upholding a family name is daunting and can really impact a relationship dynamic and I thought that was show really well through Alexis and Daniel.

The author took great care to portray both intimate partner abuse and parent/child abuse in this novel. It's a heavy topic but is handled so well and I know this story will help many people to feel seen and know there is light on the other side of a very dark tunnel.

A small town setting will get me every single time. I just love all of the supporting characters you get and the sense of community always bonding together. These scenes and some truly laugh out loud moments helped balance the heavier themes extremely well.

Basically just read this book. It was so good and now I need to dive in to Abby's backlist titles asap.

I lucked into an Advanced Reader Copy of Part of Your World, and I'm glad I did. It was an interesting book, though I'm still really not a fan of alternating first person narrative.

Alexis Montgomery, of *the* Montgomerys, is having a bad day when she meets Daniel at the VFW in a closed for the off-season tourist town. After a bet, a grilled cheese sandwich, meeting a baby goat, and a very out of character one-night stand, she returns to her life as an ER doctor, fighting with her parents over why she's not doing more with her life and why she's not getting back together with her abusive ex. The least lovable character in the novel is her father, followed up closely by her mother, and then her abusive ex. That's how awful her father is.

There's no way that she can bring Daniel into her world - their worlds aren't compatible. And it was just a one-night stand, right? When does it go from one-night stand to FWB to love? What do you do when you realize that you're falling in love with someone who can never, ever, be part of your world?

A scoop of passionate connection, a cup of trauma recovery, a healthy helping of wit and hijinks, and just a dash of subtle magic.

Alexis Montgomery, a big-city high-powered doctor from a family of big-city high-powered doctors, meets Daniel Grant purely by chance when he tows her car out of a ditch near the tiny town of Wakan where he's the B&B manager, carpenter, baby goat nanny, and all-around good guy. He's also the mayor, just like every generation of Grants before him. Given their different backgrounds and dueling legacies, they know nothing can come of it, but the attraction is undeniable. Plus, the baby goat is wearing pajamas — no one can resist a baby goat in pajamas!

Abby Jimenez is a master of great couple chemistry and the connection between Alexis and Daniel is one of the best. Fairytale nods, Princess Bride quotes, and animal shenanigans are light and entertaining, but there's a serious core to this story: trauma, domestic abuse, sexism, classism. It's a challenge to pull off, and the pacing suffers just a little in the emotional second half of the book, but overall it's a fun, hopeful, heartfelt read with a strong woman who saves herself and a super swoony small-town guy.

This book follows in Jimenez's trademark ability to pair humor with difficult topics in the most perfect balance. She puts her characters through the wringer with realistic and relatable adversities and makes you feel all the feels.

You absolutely can read this as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading her books in order. Not only are they all amazing, but there are interconnected moments you'll love.

The meet cute in this book is everything (just like all her books!) and I was swooning over Daniel immediately. He is such a fantastic hero. He was so lovable and swoon worthy and only became more so with each page.

I loved Alexis from the beginning too. Her character flaws are so situational and it was really amazing to see her grow. I loved her personality and I loved her heart.

The dichotomy between super small town and big city is so well done in this book. I loved the glimpses we got into both as it was enlightening into the upbringings of Daniel and Alexis.

I cannot say enough good things about this book. It was wonderful. The communication between the characters, the romance, and the difficult topics covered were just a few of my favorites.

This book covers emotional and domestic abuse please be aware if this is a trigger. It is very well researched and written, but will definitely be a trigger for some.

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This is my honest review.
