Alexis is driving home from a funeral, when she runs off the road to avoid a raccoon. A man and his dog come by and tow her out, free of charge. Since the drive was long, Alexis stops in at the local VFW for some food. There, she runs into the same guy, Daniel Grant, her towed her out, and they build a repertoire. She goes home with him on the promise of a grilled cheese sandwich and flees the next morning. However, she continues to think of him and makes the 2 hour drive to visit as often as she can. She quickly finds that they both have family obligations that require them to stay at their current location, so can this relationship survive? I really enjoyed the banter between Daniel and Alexis. Also, her friend, Brie, is great and seems to be the only one of her friends and family that actually cares what Alexis wants. Unlike some rom-coms, I thought the long-distance scenario was pretty realistic, and the ending was great.

I am obsessed with this book. I really love a fun easy read romance that makes you feel so much. I loved the characters and the sweet relationships between the characters. It was even a little educational at some parts. There was great character development.

Abby is really that girl! Every single one of her books HIT!
I ate this up in 24 hours, while giggling, crying, and screaming. Abby writes such hilarious and moving characters. They often feel so personal it’s hard not to shed a tear. All of Abby’s MMC’s are my favorites, but Daniel is now in the top two (alongside Mr. Justin). I definitely recommend this book, and all of her other reads as well!
Fun fact: All of Abby’s books are interconnected stand alone reads! So if you like the minor characters in any of her books, they likely have a story of either own
