fantastic!

This fantasy adventure gets real interesting after just a few pages, and keeps you glued for the rest of the book. Well, it did for me, anyway. Looking forward to more!

Surprisingly enjoyable.
I liked the blurb, but I was hesitant since it has cards as the source of power. I'm actually really happy I decided to read this. This was an emotional read, and Arthur grows up with a lot of things happening. I absolutely approve of the actions at the end of the book. The cliffhanger was expected, but worth it. I'm excited to see what comes next.

this was my first time with a litrpg and normally they're pretty cringe but, Honour Rae went off in this series. The world-building, the magic and even the fact that she made the dragons work in this story is nothing short of insane & genius. i haven't read a card-based magic system in a while and the fact that it still wasn't overwhelmed by the idea of dragons was refreshing and made this the book such a treat to read. I love the dragons, i love that they can talk and have feelings & i love the magic and the endless types of powers available (idk how she keeps track of all of it) & the main character is my absolute favourite.

This was fun.

The magic system Is really interesting.

Arthur, the main character, was smart and I enjoyed him as a character.

I'm curious to see what will happen in the next book and how he will make use of his cards.

Through most of the story, All the Skills is less focused on the "deck building" aspect and more on the "skills". 12-year-old Arthur gets his hands on a Legendary card that grants him unique access to a skill system. He starts out learning basic cooking skills and cooking is a surprisingly big part of the story throughout. Other skills he picks up are based around gambling and thievery, but with his card he develops into a jack of all trades.

He journeys from his destitute village with a trade caravan, encounters this world's monsters, and meets dragons. So many awesome dragons.

This book would be a great entry point to LitRPG for middle grade readers but doesn't fall into the middle grade tropes that might annoy an adult reader. It falls on the lighter end of the LitRPG/Gamelit system mechanics range.

I don't particularly go for card game books, but... yeah, this is well thought out system-wise, and I really enjoy characters, writing, the works.
