A fun light book. It is almost like reading a short story and is just entertaining - nothing earth shattering or that makes you think.

To enjoy this one, you really have to suspend disbelief and not have parental concern over the ethics of kidnapping a baby. If you are able to let go of that little detail, then this is pretty humorous, and I actually enjoyed it more than the first Hendrik book thanks to lots more plotting and a good narrator on audio.

This book was a delight! What a hilarious group of characters, and a fast-paced, silly adventure.
It reminded me of the episode of Mr.Bean where he mistakenly takes a baby in a carriage and wanders around a fair with her! The writing and style reminds me of “the old man who disappeared out the window” and “anxious people”.
I haven’t read any others by this author, or with these characters, but now I’m intrigued to read more about the loveable & hilarious Hendrik Groen!
I was given an advanced copy of this book and I’m happy to give this honest review.

Nooooo!!!
After enjoying the first two Hendrik Groen books a lot, 3.5-4 stars each probably, I dove into this one expecting the same heart and that the others possess. For anyone that picks this book up first of the trilogy, I fear it would ruin the want to read the others. It lacked the commentary and insights of Hendrik, which were one of the most charming parts of the other book. The plot was actually horrendous with monstrous themes, the characters are dull caricatures, and the ending is very unsatisfying.
