This was a hook! I was fully addicted to finding out the conclusion of the story and I love books like these. The psychological teen thrillers that get into the characters head and have them on an all stakes goose chase to find out who is messing with them.
In this one there’s a birthday treasure hunt, following threatening clues to play a game. But Cleo is harbouring dangerous secrets which concern the fatal ending of her boyfriend who ended up drowning the year before. Declan is dead… surely. However the appearance of these clues gives her pause for thought. They contain information only he could have known…
It got more and more intriguing as it went along and it was the perfect audiobook to accompany me in the gym. Definitely started off strong and had me guessing throughout.

Okay but I didn’t love the writing style. The story was great. The writing wasn’t even bad writing it’s just not what I’m used to reading!
Incredibly predictable… and I wish there was more of a content warning about the physical abuse. Definitely not a favorite of mine from this author.
Seven Dirty Secrets by Natalie D. Richards is the first YA book in a very long time to really grab and hold my attention. From the get-go, this scavenger hunt/cat and mouse game that is going on with this group of teenage friends is intriguing. The complicated dynamic between all of the characters also makes it interesting and helps the story not be so cut and dry.
While the book was good, it loses points for lack of originality. It has 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' vibes all over it.
