I'm just left wondering what the friggin' Green Day song was, dammit. Going with 3.5 and I may round up later depending on how it settles in my brain. This is a case of not knowing whether or not to knock a star off for figuring out the who did it, why, and even how (ish) since I'm well outside the target age for this. On the other hand, it's literally one of the only things that made sense and would be at all vaguely satisfying... even if it means I really hope Cleo's getting a fantastic therapist soon. :P
For the most part I enjoyed the ride and I read it pretty quickly without really wanting to shake anyone too badly. It did take ages to figure out why we'd even bothered to include the three other people in the riddle since they added so very little to the story for most of the book, but that was also cleared up.

About 1/4 of the way into the book I figured out the ending but there were plenty of things that had me pulled in a different direction. I liked the idea of the scavenger hunt and the backstory of Cleos 17th birthday. I did, however, think the aspects of her birthday at the river that were made out to be big reveals were actually very obvious. I also was so distracted by a few doubled up words and one whole section of editors notes left in right near the end. Otherwise, this is my second of Natalie D Richard's books and my favorite of the two.

“ One caused the fall.
One did nothing.
One saw it all.
One didn’t care.
One used their head.
One played the hero.
One was left for dead. “
Seven teens walked into a camping trip but only six walked out. Cleo’s boyfriend Declan was left for dead and now someone knows what she did. She must solve a scavenger hunt before time is out or risk someone possibly ruining her future.
I freaking enjoyed this book so much! This is definitely binge worthy and I could have completely read it in one day if I wasn’t reading two books at once time! This felt like I know what you did last summer but with a twisty scavenger hunt on top of it all!
Honestly the twist HAD me. There was a moment where I thought it could be who it was but then brushed it off and said “nah” , it wouldn’t have made sense to me.
Seven Dirty Secrets was full of twists and turns, riddles and slasher movie vibes and I just seriously couldn’t put it down! This is perfect for spooky season or for something that you’ll want to keep reading when you should probably be cleaning or cooking!

I didn’t feel connected to the main character or any of the characters, I felt like the main character was not like able and I feel like she referenced her brother being attractive more than once that it made me cringe. The book was slow, it picked up on page 100 but then dragged again and then picked up around 200 then dragged. It was so predictable. Too predictable. Imagine Pretty Little Liars trying to find out who “A” is and I know what you did last summer combined but cringy.
