Great addition to the series. Lots of fun Reichis moments. I like that Kellen tries to do the right thing but isn't bound by too rigid morals, sometimes you just have to blast holes in a few people.

Nice change of scenery as well with interesting new characters and new rules to try and understand. Some really nice world building, but still a very captivating read with lots of fast action

Kellen is growing up and starting to figure out what kind of person he wants to be, I'm always rooting for him, although sometimes I think he is taking too many steps back in terms of character progression, would like to see some of his growth and bravery shown in previous books and moments in this book stick around a bit more. Also there are a couple characters I want to hit really hard with a big stick and I hope they'll get there just desserts in the next book.

Ultimately it's a fun read which I couldn't put down and I immediately preordered the next book in the series. Definitely recommend this book.

Another adventure with the hapless Kellen who's main method of survival is falling out of trouble, into even bigger trouble. This one involves a kingdom, conspiracy, betrayal, more conspiracy, overzealous law-enforcement, total gits, more conspiracy and lots of bloody death.
Kellen has taken his gloves off in this one, taking out his enemies with his one trick with aplomb. It was great Kellen was reunited with his business partner Reichis, who added a lot of the humour to the story.

Queenslayer was dark, twisted, and so driven. Kellen finds himself in a kingdom on the verge of a coup (which is a little to close to home with everything that transpired yesterday here in the US). I love a story the has this kind of plot scheme because you never really quite know who to trust.

Out of all the books thus far I think I struggled the most liking characters or getting attached to them. I can't fault the book for that because you are pretty much forced to be skeptical of everyone. Now once again the story picks up several months after the events of Soulbinder. Kellen and Reichis have found themselves in the country of Daroman. As soon as they arrive they find themselves tangled up in a conspiracy for the crown. Like I said earlier, I really enjoy these kinds of plots. Queenslayer did amp up the tone. I found this novel to be much darker.

Kellen has turned a new leaf for me. I didn't think he was as insufferable this time around. He did make some decisions that were again but due to the situation he was thrust into I can see why. I believe after everything Kellen has been through he would start to see through some of the trickery and deception. However he is that character, he shows weakness when it come to friends and family. Once again when are introduced to a slew of new characters. The side characters of Queenslayer are questionable at best. I didn't necessarily attach to any of them. Ginevra and Essra were probably the ones I gravitated to the most.

It looks like we are heating up for a big conclusion and I for one am excited!

Okay so this one took a while and I think I was quite a bit slumpy at the start of the month, but I really loved and enjoyed this book so much while I was reading it - this was just so good and especially about halfway through I really got my reading stride back and I just could not put it down.

I will say there were some moments in this book that just didn't work for me as a reader, I do think those moments had a lot of potential that it just didn't really live up to and while they were shocking, they kind of were just that. I am very excited for the next book in the series tho, and I really did love a lot of this book.
