If you liked the show Gossip Girl, you’d like this book. I however was NOT a fan of Gossip Girl… I still enjoy a lot of YA books, but this was too high school drama for me, nor did it seem at all plausible. I also was able to figure out the ending pretty early in. I still gave the book three stars because I was still able to read for long periods of time and stay engaged, but it definitely wasn’t my favorite and I don’t think I need to read the sequel.

I thought it was the teacher from the start and the way my jaw dropped when Jake was involved! OMG.

Crazier on this was how Simon wanted to go and bring everyone else with him. Just jaw dropped the last 80%.

These four deserves everything idc!

Stereotypical teenage plot points and character flaws but a diverse range of characters mentioned throughout. Didn’t think the story was that exciting, more predictable than anything.

3 // I don't have much to say in regards to this book because I am quite certain most has already been said before, however I do have one question. Why why why did this supposed mystery/thriller end like a YA romance/contemporary. That ending was so irrelevant to its genre and the actual story and I am just a wee bit perplexed as to why it exists. This books is just bland for what it was supposed to be. That is all.

I am strongly debating whether I should give it a 2.5 or a 3 (the rating will be subject to change)

"Everyone's got secrets, right?"

This book made me feel like I was 13 and watching a new episode of Pretty Little Liars (in a good way)!

Five students enter detention, and only four leave. When Simon, owner of the local gossip mill, doesn't make it out of detention alive, the four who were with him are being investigated for his murder, as Simon was about to drop rumors about them they did not want getting out. However, as things unfold, they learn that things are not what they seem - and that they have to work together to make it out.

I loved this book! The development and backstories of the characters were all really well done (Addy and Nate are superior) and I was hooked from the first page. The mystery constantly kept me guessing and I felt super accomplished when I actually got some aspects right! It isn't by any means predictable, though; every page has new information and it'll make your head spin.

3.5⭐️ - I enjoyed the story and I thought the plot was unique. I did enjoy the writing but I did feel like the pace was a little slow for a thriller. This book did keep me guessing until the end of the story but I was little underwhelmed by the ending.
