I couldn’t do the abuse. Not something I was interested in. I did read the trigger warnings but I assumed this book would be about adventure (I try not to read comments before starting a book to avoid spoilers) but it’s mostly smut and that’s not something I’m looking to read at this moment. I have a craving for adventure rn.

The narrator for the audiobook is absolutely fabulous and I'm convinced she's what got me through the book. CHECK THE TRIGGER WARNINGS- there are no fewer than five instances of sexual assault in this book, and the majority are graphic and pretty violet. The fact that it happened so frequently ruined the rest of the story for me, I think I really would have enjoyed this book otherwise.

This was my first Pam Godwin book and it did not disappoint. It was action packed from the beginning and kept me hanging on every word. I am obsessed with Bennett she is my kind of FMC. A bad ass pirate queen who doesn't take shit from anyone. The ending had me squealing, I did not see that coming. Obsessed with Priest and Ashley they were perfect.
