Holy cow, this book was so good! I loved the Daughter of the Pirate King duology and it was a blast coming back to that world. The glimpses of Alosa were fun, but I never realized how AWESOME Sorinda is.
Sorinda is the coolest pirate assassin ever and was so fun to watch and easy to root for. Her character journey made me want to cry - it was so good to see her grow and change throughout the book. She and Kearan had the sweetest relationship and their romance was so satisfying too. The plot was also gripping and I couldn't put the book down because I wanted to know what happened next!
Swoony heros, swashbuckling pirates, girl power, and mythological monsters and threats. What more could you want from a book?

I fucking loved this ❤️ Getting to know Sorinda better, watching her "get in, get shit done, and move on" attitude was soo fitting for our pirate assassin, and her healing journey as she tried to balance everything she's put up against was amazing. I just loved how she knew who she was and didn't bend or bow to anyone. I want more from this world and more of her ❤️ I didn't see any of the plot twists coming, and it just reaffirmed for me that pirate stories are way better with magic 🤣
