As a huge [b:Gone With the Wind|18405|Gone With The Wind|Margaret Mitchell|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1166913011s/18405.jpg|3358283] fan, I really enjoyed this book. It was great to see the GWTW story unfold through Rhett's eyes.
When I heard that this book was being written I could wait, and honestly I wasn't disappointed. [b:Gone With the Wind|18405|Gone With The Wind|Margaret Mitchell|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1166913011s/18405.jpg|3358283] is my favorite book of all time, and I really liked how Rhett's story was woven in by McCaig. I think anyone who loves the story that Margaret Mitchell created would be entertained by this story. Some of the familiar characters in GWTW are fleshed out more in this book and I enjoyed getting to "know" them from a different perspective.
Eh. I got bored and didn't finish it. It says it's a "must read" for Gone with the Wind fans. However, I found that I had a hard time enjoying it because I am such a huge Gone with the Wind fan. It wasn't enough to capture my interest. It focused more on Rhett's family and friends than it did him. I was interested in hearing about Rhett's side of the story; I'm not interested in his friend's lives.
I enjoyed this book. I liked it much more than Scarlett. While it certainly is no [b:Gone with the Wind|18405|Gone With The Wind|Margaret Mitchell|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1166913011s/18405.jpg|3358283]. It was a good read and it was not like when I read the sequel to Lonesome Dove and wished I hadn't. I especially enjoyed the prequel sections.
Bleah. Dreadful waste of time. The characters don't sound or act like themselves. Bad ending. In short, don't waste your time.
Loved loved loved.

It's definitely got some flaws and I rather liked the original ending, but it's a great look into one of the great literary heroes, and it's great if you want to get back into that world without reading the original again
surprisingly entertaining. way better than that horrible "Scarlett" sequel that i read when i was 13. i heart Rhett Butler.
Not nearly as good as the original, but it is a nice continuation. Especially, since I wasn't ready for the story to end.
