forever one of my favorites from when i was little, i read it for a fun super easy read and was in love with it the whole time just like i was when i first read it so long ago. its so perfect that one day is enough to read it in and it honestly doesn’t ever need anything more.

A sweet, slight, meta fantasy about reading, dreaming, remembering and writing.

Apparently there are two sequels, which look ... ill-advised.

this book was incredibly influential in my childhood, i first read it many moons ago after my father gave me a copy as a present. i decided to reread it today and was overcome by emotions i’m a little bit embarrassed to admit that i felt. i actually cried over a fictional geography teacher. okay. i love this book

also, i’ve thought about this book at least once a month for the last 10 years, it holds up

Loved this young adult book. Fast read and interesting characters. I loved the idea of the character living their own lives after the book is closed.

This was a sweet little book that I picked up on a whim. A very quick read. It tells the story of Sylvie, who whiles away her days waiting for a Reader to come and read her story. Finally, she gets a Reader, but she soon discovers that there is a world beyond her story and she sets out to explore. Of course, chaos ensues. It's interesting to think of the characters of your books as sentient and waiting for you to read their story so they can act it out. Enjoyable and a lovely ending.

Ahhh, that was wonderful~ it's a great, fun look at what happens inside a book once the Reader closes it. I'd never read this before and I'm kinda sad I missed out on it as a young reader. It really shows how passing a story on can really make a difference in so many lives, and remembering stories is a great thing for the characters to live on.
