THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AND THE SLOW BURN FEELS! I love these men, but this might be one of my favorite books in the series. It was delicious and honestly I want another book of just them.
emotional

I swear, every book in this series gets better than the last.

This was the best book in the series (so far), because it gave us a unique plot, the badass and smart FMC, and the complicated Sikthand. Sikthand’s bitter and angry because his ex found a way to fake mating recognition in him. Sophia helped her friends escape and is now a hostage of Sikthand. Eventually, both realize that a political alliance could be mutually beneficial, and they seek to find a way forward for humans and Clecanians in light of the Queen’s death and the changing political landscape.
