It was interesting at first but slowly got a little boring but near the end had an interesting twist but it was still a little predictable. But i didnt like the ending and call BS on it.
Reads like some mediocre fanfiction. I could not shake the feeling that everyone, including Andy, was some y/n-original-character-self-insert thing. Weird read, in the worst way

It was just a dream inspired by Dracula? Stop. That’s an awful way to end a book. Disappointed overall.

This was not a good sequel and I can understand the vitriol that it inspires in some readers (see the reviews for this book aside from mine to see what I mean). It is a seemingly half-assed attempt by Ira Levin to write a sequel to his most iconic work and while the writing is - as always- short, simple, and right to the point it is also seemingly rushed. I almost think that he didn't know what to write or could not make any decisions so he wrote an alright albeit uninspired start to the novel with an ending that seems to erase the events of both this book and the original; thus, absolving Levin of the fame that came from his original novel and its film and attempting to make readers think it's a clever ending by "leaving it up to interpretation". In reality, the ending is a confusing mess with no closure or answers that spits in the face of fans of the original. This is so disappointing and unlike Levin who is known for his originality and solid plots. No wonder this is one of the only novels of his that has not been adapted for the screen. It's sad that this was his last novel as it is quite the sour note to end on.
Ohhhhh. What a disappointment. It actually made me sad after reading Stepford Wives and Rosemary's Baby. I was a little hesitant to pick it up, because sequels are never good, but I liked this author so much.
I don't like books that are predictable. And I knew at the first mention of 'biochemicals' that something was going to happen, and the candles that just haaad to be lit all over the world? Oh, please.
Her fawning all over his eyes annoyed me, too. But only towards the end. I think I'd just gotten fed up.

such a disappointing follow up to an incredible book that actively makes the original falter. for my sanity, this does not exist.

PT-BR:

Writing a sequel to such a masterpiece as Rosemary's Baby would not be easy. And although Levin's writing is still good and has a good rhythm, the main character seems out of character compared to the first book and it's hard to believe her behavior in the face of what happened in her youth. I suggest reading it as a sequel to the first book and not expecting it to be another masterpiece, but it's still a good book.
