The villian and his motive were rather far-fetched, and this novel did way too much telling and not enough showing. All of the characters constantly explained themselves TO themselves.

I really did enjoy this book! Plus it was an actual book. The first actual book I've read in a long time. You see I've been on a digital book marathon lately. Anyways, Mary Higgins Clark never seems to disappoint. I've always enjoyed her books and the suspense. The story I had to keep reading to find out what would happen next. I will say that I accurately predicted the ending, however I think this may be in part because I have read a few of her books and tend to know which direction she goes. With that being said however, I would recommend this book to any of my friends who like the mystery genre of books.

Not her best book, but still a quick, fun read for the airplane.

I don't review as much these days, but this book was pretty bad. Clark is an interesting writer. New York pretty much means Manhattan in her books and the main characters are pretty much always drowning in money -- dining at the Four Seasons on a regular basis, never, ever taking the subway. They're flat and could easily be substituted for one another. I don't know why I keep reading these. At least I don't buy them! Oh, and in this one, each character comes thisclose to revealing a crucial clue, but then doesn't for some random reason. It got old pretty quickly.

Been reading MHC for years. This isn't my favorite though. It was okay, but not great. Figured it out long before the end!

Like all of Mary Higgins Clark's books, I was drawn in from the beginning and couldn't put the book down till I had read every last word. Hated the name she used for her main character, Zan is a HORRIBLE nickname! But I loved seeing Ms. Alvirah get her sleuth on!

Reading Mary Higgins Clark is like eating cotton candy - fun but ultimately empty calories. If you're looking for a straightforward whodunnit that's one step removed from a romance novel, this is your book.
