Wow. This is my first Ann Patchett novel, and I had no idea what I was walking into. god, this book was so beautiful. I am in love with every person in this family and felt the nostalgia for my own family from reading it. This is one of those books where sort of nothing happens, but you can't put it down anyway. The feeling this book gave me is very hard to replicate. Being privy to the mom's inner thoughts in the midst of her storytelling was just telling enough for us to understand her a bit better and why she made some of the decisions she made. I'd recommend this to lovers of "Normal People," people who want to give their mom a big hug, or people who either feel stuck and worried in their early twenties or those who want to think back on their young adult days.

Delightful tbh. Meryl Streep should narrate every audiobook.

This book is lovely and hard to put down. I especially enjoyed it because it mostly takes place in northern Michigan - I think Michiganders will especially appreciate it.

I enjoyed this the whole way through but the ending pleasantly surprised me and solidified it as a 5 star read.

The characters feel so real to the point where I felt like I was reading a modern Steinbeck book at times. And I now have to add living on a cherry orchard in Michigan to the never ending lists of lives I want to live
