This book had been my daily accompaniment throughout langorious dog days at home. And man, what a read it had been! True to its eponymous title, each essay was like a wild card after the next with its potentiality to shift one’s perspective and thus change one’s life. Hence, I dipped in and out of this book and read a couple essays per day so as to let the realizations I’ve gained from this to marinate. Except for the occasional faint pencil highlight, I no longer bothered to underline anything — each sentence, each paragraph, and each essay was on point.
I read a review somewhere about this book wherein the person said that ‘there is an essay here for everyone’ — I second this. It’s a book of essays I feel the most ardent about recommending to my peers and go ‘look here! pause for a while & read this!’.
Simply amazing and so grateful I got to read this now in my early 20s.

When I thought essays, I wasn’t expecting lists.
Some of this was a hit, really had me thinking and evaluating my life. Some of it really changed my perspective (as the book title suggests it’ll do).
Some of it was repetitive, and just boring.

Repetitive after about 20 essays. Long story short, no issue or bump in the road is ever that serious, and chasing your dreams is worth the risk.

Wanted to like it. These essays feel wrong as a book of essays and should’ve remained individual essays. Repetitive
DNF. maybe it’s because i was listening to the audiobook version, but i just never found myself returning to finish it. there were strong spots, but maybe i’ll connect further with the material if i return to a paper copy. also, a lot of the philosophy in this book centered around rationalizing why your problems aren’t really that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things; i think that sentiment can be dangerous if you’re already prone to anxiety.
Disagreed with a lot of advice and thought, wasn’t for me
