Some kernels of wisdom among a lot of platitudes. Essays is a bit of an ambitious descriptor in the title, because most of the book is lists (i.e.: “50 things to think about instead of your anxiety”), and it was remarkably repetitive and felt white feminist-y. I’m sure some folks would appreciate this, but it wasn’t it for me.

I really liked this book—it was profound and had me thinking new ways, but I wish i hadn’t listened to it on audiobook—this is one you need in print, and it got SO REPETITIVE. By the end, I was just wishing it would be over soon.

I believe this book belongs on everyone’s shelf/coffee table/office/pocket — as someone who tends to devour books in one sitting I made a conscious decision to limit myself to bites. A couple essays at a time to allow my world to explode, the dust to settle and then dive in again for more. Brianna is a channel of energy who articulates every thought that has passed us by.

Definitely a good read for anyone going through a lot of changes in life. Great perspectives for just about everything you could think of. Will probably revisit this a few times (and get a physical copy to bookmark the ones that most resonated)

Listened to this on audiobook I thought it was amazing. I think it’s unfair that other reviewers are using the authors young age to dictate whether or not, she could write about life lessons since apparently she is very young. To me, age means nothing it’s what you go through in life that teaches you everything. The author touched on love, trust, work life balance, goals, habits, and how to change negative thinking into positive thinking. I wouldn’t necessarily call this book “101 essays” as each chapter felt so short. However, I did appreciate that it was to the point and did not drag on. I would definitely recommend the audiobook over the physical for this one!
