I knew I would love this book after reading the first line; a Taylor Swift lyric! I loved this book. I couldn't put it down; needed to know what happened next.

i didn't see that twist coming, i have it give credit where it's due - and it was a wild one. could have done with a different ending tho I think.

3.5 Stars. First 60% is pretty slow then twists start. Sager through in some supernatural shit which I was hoping to turn into real people however it didn’t but I’m easy please I suppose

What can I say about this book without spoilers? Not much. So:

SPOILERS
Spoiler
This book was ridiculous. This was on par with the ridiculousness of Behind Her Eyes. Riley Sager is one of my favorite authors, but this book really jumped the shark.

Possession? Really? I do like the twist of Casey's husband being the killer, but to through in whole possession element was a bit bananas for me. It was too far out there, and I guess it was foreshadowed, but come on. I will read his future books, because I've loved all of his others (besides Lock Every Door, which was just ok). Hopefully this was a one off.

1.5 ⭐️ (?) | I was so bored by this book. I was not surprised by a single thing. Confused for the last 100 pages yes, but no surprise at any of the reveals that makes this book deserve a good rating as i guessed 75% of the reveals by the first 40 pages. not to mention, the characters were so flat, and i do not like supernatural books whatsoever (that was my only surprise, knowing that i could’ve saved myself a few hours and skipped on this book) :/ i think the only thing i kinda liked was Riley Sager’s writing (and the taylor swift references) but it didn’t do much to help the fact i was bored out of my mind most of it.

i’m also trying to be more critical when it comes to star ratings because i don’t want to rate everything 5 stars and this book is subject to my wrath sorry bout it. i might be nice and up it to 2 stars tomorrow if i have a change of heart, but i doubt it

I really enjoyed the build up in this book. However I found the resolution to be quite lacking. I had a few guesses about what was going and none of them were even close to what happened. Usually I would really enjoy being thrown off the trail, but here what actually happened was so bizarre I could not have guessed it was going to be an option. The characters were fine, but there was very little that was memorable about them.
