Captivating bitgraphyy

Fascinating, detailed biography of J. Robert Oppenheimer.

It covers at length whether he was linked to communists, and the hearing into whether his security clearance should be renewed. Despite the detail and large "cast of characters", I found this very readable and interesting.

Wow!! That’s all I can say. What an amazing man and an amazing life.

I found the book both interesting and well written, if a bit long winded at times. Sometimes I got the I presión as though the book was written to allow it to picked up at any chapter, which isn’t a terrible quality but it did repeat itself quite a bit.

Still the craft in the book is undeniable and I found it an engaging read.

DID NOT FINISH: 45%

It was dry and a tough read for me…I’m walking away, and that’s okay.

honestly only dropped the half star bc the audiobook audio was all over the place (you can hear the quality change from when it's obviously different recording sessions), and the narrator would even change how he pronunced names--there were even passages where he would pronounce Strauss as straws/strouse within minutes of each other. with a narrative with so many names that certainly didnt help, but i suppose the recording is from 2007 so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯....anyway otherwise fascinating and a little heartbreaking, and impressively thorough (even a little overwhelming so)

ok, i didn't enjoy the first 40-60% of this book, but the last half had me totally hooked. it's an american tragedy, a real case study. i am opje-pilled!
