Loved The Maniac and was thoroughly pleased with this series of short stories. Labatut has a thoroughly engaging prose and explains science in an easy to understand way. It is an interesting mix of fiction and non-fiction from which I felt I learned something while following these scientists.

A bloody masterpiece. One of the best novels I’ve read this year and that’s considering how ideas of the dangers of technological advancement, science, etc are ones that rarely connect with me. Incredible novel. Go read this shit. Truly mind blowing stuff. About knowledge and how it changes not just our understanding of the world but also the way we interact with the world and the way our world fundamentally is (and the dangers of these changes).

5 stars! Haunting, mesmerizing, deeply resonant. Such a unique and beautiful style of prose.

Plot or Character Driven: A mix

Infotainment in book form. Accessible despite the topics being discussed. However,
I didn't like how Schrodinger's attraction to a 16 year old was treated, it felt very blase and could have been handled better.

Plot or Character Driven: Character

This felt like auto fiction, but historic? Like it’s definitely historic fiction but the fiction part is so strange and cool. If you are unfamiliar with the characters, you’ll wonder what was fiction and what was true. I thought the vibes were on point.
