While every story was not an all-time favorite, this is one of my favorite creepy anthologies that I've read in recent years.

Wish that each of the reimaginings were followed directly with the original Poe tale instead of separated the way they are.

As with most anthologies, some of the stories were better than others. I really liked that the original stories were included as well as the new stories inspired by Poe's work. I had not read much Poe since I was in high school, it was wonderful to experience them again as an adult this time.

Loved: classics being made diverse and inclusive and gayer!

Didn’t love: the layout, maybe? I would have loved to listen to the original story followed by its retelling if the original stories were gonna be included, you know?

Read as an audiobook! This was fine, I didn’t like some of the narrator’s voices and some stories were better than others. I liked how they made most of them queer, the diversity made it interesting. I’m just not a big fan of Poe’s work in general, so I don’t think I’m the right audience for this to really be impactful.

I genuinely enjoyed 3 of the short stories in here. The rest were only so-so.
