If I could rate it less I would, this was a terrible book. I only finished it because I have a reading goal to meet. I was picked out the entire book. Cheating trope is not for me.

This is gonna be the longest review I've written in a while:
I like this author's writing, and I know this is probably not going to be the last book of hers I pick up even if it's the first.
(Although, sadly none of her other books are in audio so it will be unlikely. I mostly, if not ONLY read through audiobooks.)
I genuinely appreciate her writing.
And this was supposed to be easily a 4 or 5-star book, because the author is very talented, and her words just melt in your ears, (strictly audio listener here) and her story flow is smooth, but there is a big BUT coming.
I haven't cared for a book's "message" since High School. I read now and will continue to read for my own enjoyment and not be "taught" something.

What a story. I enjoyed reading this book and cannot wait for more from this book. They have a good page turning relationship. Can not wait to read more.
Yikes. This book is….. not good. The whole premise of the book is already triggering enough and it is unfortunate to say that it wasn’t executed very well. I normally love angst but this was just not it at all. The only reason why they got back together is because of sex and that just doesn’t sit right with me at all. There’s no way sex can realistically solve all the things they went through.
I absolutely love this author!! She’s my go to whenever I need something spicy and taboo but this book wasn’t it for me. I really wanted to like it because of who the author is but I just couldn’t. Everyone in this book annoyed the hell out of me and the couple needed therapy more than the needed to rekindle their failing marriage.
This story starts off with Olivia getting a very alarming call that her soon to be ex-husband, Bennette, has been in a really bad car accident and she needs to get to the hospital asap. As Olivia nervously pace around the hospital for hours, she’s notified that her husband is out of surgery but he’s in a coma due to the extent of his injuries. But when Bennette open his eyes, all he remembers is the love he has for his wife Olivia and not the last two years they’ve been at odds and their marriage being on the door steps of divorce.
This story started out great!! It was full of angst, drama, in-laws being extra, close friends being for and against the couple getting back together, side pieces acting like their connections to Olivia or Bennette meant more than what it was and a lot of forced proximity! But when it came time for the couple to work through their issues and the reasons they fell apart really drove me insane!!! With Bennette not remembering the last two years of their marriage, I really appreciate how sympathetic and heartbroken he was over his part in what made them fall apart and how willing he was to do and try everything for them to reconcile. But Olivia just couldn’t let go that he cheated on her but she would never acknowledge that she pushed him away. This entire book Olivia was on her high horse like she didn’t have a hand in their down fall. Then the third act breakup made no sense!! No real person in their right mind would keep a secret like that from the person they are trying to get back with. AND THE COUPLE NEVER WENT TO THERAPY! Bennette mentioned that they should see someone before they started having issues and they never went after they reconcile. All they had was a miracle baby at the end and all was well.

I’m not the kind of girl to cry over books but this one had me low key sobbing. Liv and Ben’s story is a messy one and even though I wouldn’t be as forgiving as Liv is it’s still an amazing story and I couldn’t put it down.
