GEEEEEEZZZZZ… well that was a drop kick straight to the feels.

P.S. if you can’t even remotely suspend reality long enough to be tickled by the angst of the cheating trope… this ain’t the book for you!!! You’ve been warned.

This second chance romance is a first time read of QB Tyler for me. I received this book in a subscription box and was not disappointed.

I love a book that rips my heart out, stomps on it, mauls it and then patches it up and pats in back in your chest. I'm here for the emotional trauma. And this book dishes it out and serves it up like a Michelin-rated restaurant.

We are introduced to Olivia as she races to her soon-to-be ex-husbands bed side after a car accident. Turns out Bennet has lost the last two years - amnesia is wild!! So for Bennet, they're still happily married and completely into each other. And you can see and feel his love and lust for his wife, it's tangible. But Olivia is at a loss - they separated months ago, a divorce was impending. What to do?!

This was a read of two people finding their way back to each other after failing each other (and themselves). It wasn't that they didn't love each other... It was that love wasn't enough without communicating and working through tragedy, grief, poor decisions, etc. The human experience, really. They learn to communicate and heal and find a path back to each other.

I loved how sexy and intense their relationship and connection was. My heart was broken alongside theirs when things stuttered and stalled. I cried when they did and I loved how they loved. This was beautifully written and I loved the spice.

Warning, there is cheating involved so if that's a nonstarter for you, then this isn't for you. But if you like a story a second chances, redemption, intense passion... I highly recommend!

Run, Olivia, run!!!! There is so much gaslighting in this book, it's astonishing.
Spoiler How is a woman who suffers from depression following miscarriages responsible for her husband cheating on her? And somehow the men in her life keep telling her that she is 'insensitive' for not wanting to play nursemaid for said (kinda) ex-husband when he has other people who could help him and he is rich enough to pay someone to help him.
Disgusting.

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. You could tell that Bennet really loved Olivia but they had problems in their marriage. They both made mistakes and this book explores the overcoming, grieving, betrayal but also forgiveness in a book. It was phenomenal. I loved the moments of desperation when he woke up and found out he and his wife were no longer together, the fact he was heartbroken again showed his true love. Absolutely brilliant

The concept of this story pulled me in so fast!! After an accident Bennett wakes up and does not remember divorcing his wife. He has amnesia of the most recent events of his life. Olivia divorced him six months ago due to complications in their marriage. This book has some trigger warning topics so check those first. If cheating is a hard line- this is not the book for you. I enjoyed the story- the uniqueness of the amnesia and how it opened things for the possibility for a second chance. I find Olivia very strong character and has endured so much in her life. Bennett in same situation is also hurting and broken trying to remember what he has done. This book is full of angst, passion, love and second chances. The audiobook is read by Elizabeth Hart and Jermey York. They both brought Olivia and Bennet to life. Loved their voices and the emotions they brought to these characters.

This book was packed full of tension and angst! And for it being quite short that gives you a whole load of emotions. I really enjoyed Bennett and Olivia’s relationship. Bennett’s grovelling was so good and I’m not usually a big fan of the amnesia or cheating tropes but that didn’t matter because I really liked the characters! Also the spice was so good!!

This was quite the struggle to get through, I gave out to hope that the MMC didn't do what he did for the sake of doing it. The cheating trope definitely isn't my go-to, but I grabbed the audio on a sale and really wanted to try their books. I got a few recommendations for other books.

Sadly, this one didn't work for me.

Solid performance by the narrators, I've heard some of their previous work for me.
