Not a bad book - read it as I had to teach it. Wouldn't have chosen to read this of my own free will but I can see why it's a good book to write about in an exam as there are a range of complex themes throughout.

I loved this book! I think it gives a great insight into what it’s actually like to be a “hero” and what that even entails. I also loved the way it explored life both before and after WWII.
