Easy read that sets up the world of Narnia. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

It was cute to revisit a children’s classic that i haven’t read since elementary school.
I actually love the history of the witch, her cruelness, and her selfishness. I also liked the creation of Narnia and Aslan however, it’s very biblical ie creating Narnia in seven hours, calling Polly and Digory “son of Adam and daughter of Ev” and giving all the talking animals names. i wish CS Lewis had gone into more detail about Uncle Andrew and his great aunt from whom he inherited the magic box  from. How did she get it?
overall i enjoyed it and plan to reread the series.

Read order #6: This was a very enjoyable feel good backstory to the Narnia series. Not my favorite tale compared to the other works in this series, but still a fantastic read! Being able to learn more about the history of Narnia and the backstory predating LWW was very entertaining!

Such a classic. CS Lewis’ sense of humor is so loveable and fun, infusing the story with elements of dry British sarcasm that I love. As an adult, Narnia has only gotten more rich and more palpable; the allegory comes into focus more than it did when I read the books as a kid, and all of the subtleties are no longer lost on me. Truly a timeless book.
