Chaque roman de Becky Albertali est une nouvelle surprise. J'entre dedans en me disant que je connais ce qu'elle écrit, que se sera bien mais que j'aurais peut être pas un coup de cœur, mais la magie de l'autrice marche a chaque fois. Et a chaque fois je tombe amoureuse des personnages et je les aime profondément et on se retrouve en eux.
Seul problème, c'est que les éditeurs français aient arrêté de traduire ses romans. Une déception de plus pour l'édition française mais pas une surprise... C'est quand même étrange que se soit ses livres qui parlent d'expériences vécues par des personnages sapphic qui ne soit pas traduit mais bon...
Merci a Netglley de m'avoir permis de lire ce livre en avant première.

I loved how Amelia was so extra and she loved it, all the nicknames she has for her friends were hilarious! And everyone went along with it because that’s what friends are for!
I captured very well what it is to be about to have big changes as a teenager and desperately trying to hold to everything as it is but sometimes you have to embrace change and you will be better for it!
Great portrayal too of parasocial relationships with celebrities, people really need to step back and let these poor people be!
Walter was adorable as well as Mark, Zoya and Edith, it was great to see Imogen and Co. and Natalie with all patience in the world!

I really enjoyed how Amelia had the kind of energy you'd expect to find in a supporting character, i.e. the quirky best friend. It was wonderful to see this type of character transported into the protagonist role, front and centre, with a cast of more sedate characters surrounding her.

Me when I read a book about a bisexual Jewish girl from westchester whose very gay high school friend group consists of a set of fraternal twins and another girl and she’s going to college in Ithaca in the fall: “wait, is this fucking play about us?”

Cute, but very clearly written by a millennial (no tea no shade) and the characters spoke/acted in a way that made me have to imagine this book took place 10 years ago instead of today
