Damaged Goods is my first Talia Hibbert book, and I didn’t know anything about it going in. Lo and behold, there are CONTENT WARNINGS! With chapter numbers! Oh my god every author needs to add content warnings in some capacity to their books, and when someone does with as much care as Talia Hibbert did it makes me so happy.

Anyway, on to the actual book review. I enjoyed this novella! I’m definitely more of a romcom girl than an emotional/tense romance girl, but the pacing was really good and it felt like a full story even at only 160 pages.

I don’t think this series is necessarily right for me, but I will definitely be reading more of Talia Hibbert’s books. Her writing style feels like a good match for me as a reader, so I can’t wait to read some of her more lighthearted books. 3.5 stars.

This was the novella that got me interested in the Ravenswood series and it was everything I expected. Hibbert managed to hit the right mix between emotional, romantic, and healing.

This is only my second Talia Hibbert book so far, but I'm becoming convinced that she exclusively writes books that speak to my heart and soul? I haven't read anything else from the Ravenswood series (although I do plan to), but this one stands on its own pretty well. The characters were easy to love, the story was very sweet and steamy, and I felt like it practically read itself. Loved this for sure, can't wait to read more from the author.

There are some content warnings with this one for sure (primarily regarding the heroine being pregnant and leaving an abusive relationship), but the author includes detailed content warnings at the beginning of the book that break down which things worthy of CW appear in which chapters.

I want more of Laura and Samir! In all reality though I think their story was perfect in every way. The pacing was great. The development was perfect. I just loved this story so much. I really think Talia Hibbert shines the most with shorter succinct stories. She can really pack  a punch. This is my 6th or 7th book by her, so am I allowed to say that a novella is my favorite by her?

Check out the content warning at the beginning. She lists the chapters and their triggers. She cares so much about her readers; that alone makes her an auto-buy author for me.
