I think the part inside of the heart could have been done better. Unfortunately it seems like the Amazon imprints don't have a strong enough hand from an editor (Beneath a Scarlet Sky).

Hey Alexa, play Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve by Taylor Swift
This book was so creative not only in the magic system but Ceony’s journey into Mg. Thanes heart so so engaging. The paper folding was so cool and I found myself wanting to make some of the things that they were making and giving life to. I liked the idea that you can only specialize in one element and that is what you had to work with, it gave the story an underdog feeling, and I love a story with someone who survives on knowledge and wit instead of power. I also appreciated that she wasn’t a master folder by the end of the book, there were things that she still messed up on and needed Thane’s assistance with. The one problem that I had was the villain, what was her motivation for stealing Thane’s heart? That part wasn’t fleshed out as well as it could have been.

This is definitely not one of those YA books that adults will like, much more suited to teenagers wanting to read about romance. The premise of the book was good and I wanted to know how it ended, so I stuck with it (I did drop off to sleep a couple of times). However, I listened to the audiobook version and the narrator was pretty much trying to sound like Deborah Kerr in The King and I - nobody speaks like that and it was pretty dire! I won't be able to get through the next book if it has the same narrator.
