beautiful, magical & enchanting but that age difference in the relationship was not cute. still gonna read the rest of the series to figure out how it ends though.
Un univers vraiment très prenant avec une autre vision de la magie. J'ai beaucoup aimé le personnage de Ceony qui est un personnage indépendant et volontaire.
L'ambiance est parfois un peu glauque tout en restant poétique. L'intrigue est dynamique.
Le seul point négatif c'est la "romance" que je sens arriver qui n'est pour moi pas vraiment utile.
Mais la version de cette magie me correspond beaucoup.

Interesting story. Apprentice magicians are bonded to a particular material: paper Folders, metal Smelters, etc. Folding is the least interesting material, so when Ceony is apprenticed to Folding, she isn't too impressed. Of course, once she settles down to learn some Folding magic, life is actually pretty good. But of course, things aren't meant to stay like that.
I enjoyed the slow reveal of Ceony's past (as well as Magician Thane's, which was a bit more thorough since his memories are explored) and the story picked up pace quickly after the opening.

The premise is interesting, but it gets weirdly religious out of the blue and then turns into an 'everyone has a dark past' moment.
Not to mention, the apprentice decided to just wash her teacher's clothes when he leaves fta few days. Very weird. And the teacher/student relationship seemed unnecessary.
