Raw and honest. Joan Didion is always wonderful.

refreshingly hopeful but realistic view on death and grieving
jasratchford's review against another edition
was honestly a bit disappointed with this, just felt the writing style lacked much character and connection with who didion actually IS which made it hard for me to emotionally connect. the final chapter, however, is some of the most beautiful prose i’ve ever read. completely gorgeous. i usually love this type of book so i wonder if i just wasn’t in the mood for it this time. glad i read it
