The ending for this novel earns it a 2.5 but I'll round up since I enjoy Slow Horses so much.
Very disappointing

Herron is such a terrific writer. Add this to his rich canon of UK spy tales. Bit of a slow start, but once it gets rolling, it really rocks. More violent than in the Slow Horses series (characters from which are referenced tangentially.) Same page-turning tension, same depth of characterization throughout, same richness to the descriptions of London. Read it in two sittings and am greedy for more.

An auxiliary novel to the Slow Horses series, focusing on an ex-op and Dog. I enjoyed the read, but found the ending unsatisfying.

Rather an abrupt ending, leaving things open or the fate of the "hero" to my imagination! :-(
