I was hoping to like this more than I did. The book is a slow burn, which is fine, but I felt like the relationships between Marnye and the guys (as well as her relationships with the side characters) weren’t enough to hold up the book by themselves. The plot was also really slow - we were introduced to some elements of the overarching plot, but were given very little information, and the near-term issues with bullying were resolved too quickly to be interesting. Probably won’t read the rest of the series.
** My rating in no way is representative of the authors ability. It’s more a take on my own personal feelings towards this specific genre **
I had no idea what I would think going into a book classified as bully reverse harem. The writing wasn’t bad, some of it was repetitive but not poorly written. I just don’t think I’m the type that enjoys reading a story about how awful men treat a woman and she still ends up swooning over them. She’s supposed to be this smart badass chick but she turns into a puddle with a little bit of attention? Especially with the knowledge these guys are known to play the long game. The ending just reinforces the annoyance because wtf and there are more books in the series?!
I apparently like to torture myself and I’m going to continue the series. But I don’t have high hopes that this is the genre for me.

One main thing I want to say.... The prologue literally ruined it for me... Come on don't mention what's going to happen in the book overall, and especially the last chapter..
I was hoping after reading the prologue that it was a passed thought and she was going to go ahead with revenge... But I guess that will be in the next book. Which I won't lie and will read. As I'm curious for the revenge and mainly about a certain best friend Miranda..
The revenge list at the end just reminded me of her Havoc story yes I've read the first..
The book overall, there was quite a lot I had problems with but I did enjoy some bits too..

At least once a year there is a book I've got no clue what to think and what to rate. Last year it was Captive Prince, this year it is this book! Yes it is definitely problematic, but also addicting as hel! So yeah, I am gonna continue.
(I know the writer says the characters are 15/16 but in my head they are definitely older!)

Omg
I definitely wouldn't describe this as a romance, I'm pretty sure it becomes one later, but these are straight up bullies. As of now, the boys have no redeeming qualities. The heroine better get her revenge in the next book, I'm dying for it.
I will say, that it was a bit weird that these characters were freshman in high school.

Overall Rating: 2 /5
Filthy Rich Boys by C.M. Stunich is described as being a bully romance, which it does one of those things really well. The bullying the book was pretty brutal and I still don't understand how you can hate someone that much because of their financial situation. To me, the bullying was taken way too far and overwhelmed the overall plot of the book. I understand that the bullying was a major aspect of the book.
However, the other aspect of the book seemed to be lacking. The romance part of the plot doesn't start until your 50% to 60% through the book. Then on top of that it felt rushed to me. Marnye's relationships with Tristian, Creed and Zayd were not fully fleshed out. I wanted to see Maryne interact with the boys more. Also, the sexual tension between the four was never really dealt with. Lastly, did she ever really choose someone at the end? I don't know.
Overally, Filthy Rich Boys was okay. It was really lacking in the romance department. To me, the book just seemed to really focus on the bullying more than anything. Even though, I was dissatisfied with the first book in the series, I'm probably going to check out the next one. I want to know how Maryne is going to take her revenge out on the Inner Circle.

Agonizing
This was a painful read. It brought me back to middle school and those feelings of hope and optimism that just get crushed down repeatedly. CM really captured those complicated emotions that are fueled by loneliness and abandonment, those moments when you convince yourself that maybe this time will be different, maybe this time they've accepted me.
But it was also surprisingly cathartic. I really felt for Marnye and I hope she DESTROYS THEM ALL
