wtf was that

so for the first 30% of this I was really disgusted with the bullying. I have read a lot of bully romances but some stuff that happened to Marnye was just awful. This is also the second bully RH I’ve read recently where it starts off that they’re 15 which I wasn’t excited about but I just pretend they’re 25..

I started to love it after the bullying died down a little but I definitely knew where the story was going.

Overall, this was fun and I’m SO pumped for the next book. Creed is my favourite boy so far.

CW: extreme bullying, mentions of suicide attempts, scene involving being character being drugged without consent, underage drinking and drug use, alcoholism, homophobic slurs.

Honestly, I was so intrigued by this book that I started the next one right away without giving this book a review 😭😂

I usually don't read the Prologue in books because I feel like they spoil a lot but I did it anyway and wow
Even though I knew what the boys will do to her I was rooting for them...

"Charity" has a lot of chemistry with her tormentors... which makes it hard to hate them
But since the main protagonist is a 15-year-old virgin, the spice is basically non-existent... but it does have parts that will give you 🦋

I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy a good bully romance without a happy ending... I mean at least this one doesn't end in a happy ending
It also speaks in itself how much I enjoyed reading this book when I forgot to review it 😂😭

Kinda hooked me on the ending even though the entire series was the same bully romance crap. Then I realized I hated it lol

DNFed @ 46%.
This should have never been published! It's unrealistic and too close to child pornography!

why tf is the prologue a spoiler

Look, this book doesn’t even warrant an actual review, as such, I am instead going to provide you with a short list of things you need to know before embarking on your journey.

This book features literal children — Did you know that I made it through a good chunk of this book before realising that these characters were literally children? With the author constantly trying to pass 15-year-olds off as men, you can’t blame me.

I’m a plebeian and chances are, so are you — The richest of the rich kids are called “idols” whereas everyone else is lovingly referred to as a “pleb”, which is probably the most 15-year-oldesque thing to come out of this book.

The protagonist is an idiot — This doesn’t need further explanation, just know that she has no sense of self preservation and has the personality of a doormat.

Again, this book features literal children — I’m sorry. I’m still not over this.

Anyway, that’s it. That’s all the energy I can spare for this book. If you want to feel uncomfortable for one too many chapters, please don’t hesitate to grab your copy of Filthy Rich Boys today.

This book was pretty good im not going to lie but definitely not great. I expected better from the author I've read many books by this author and not a single one disappointed me till now.

Let's start off with a blurb:

Marnye won a very prestigious scholarship to berberry prep, they tell her no one will know she's the scholarship recipient but before people even know her name they know they don't like her simply because she is poor. Classic rich people, although not everyone is horrid. Marnye knew what to expect a school is still a school and if anything rich kids will be much worse than the poor. Education doesn't always breed manners but Miranda is there to keep her out of trouble and give her all the details of the inner workings of the school. Marnye quickly makes enemies out of the three boys you don't want to mess with. Before she knows it things are a mess and a horrid bet is placed behind her back. Whoever can make her fall in love with them first wins and the only loser is Marnye.

                                        --Spoilers below --

First, off I didn't realize they's be so young 15 for crying out loud. They acted at the very least like 17 with all the party's, drinking, fucking any girl willing, people getting engaged for money AT FIFTEEN!!!

It didn't make sense to me, not to mention this infinity club you're going to do some secret society esk type shit then maybe make it a little more secret. Definitely don't get tattoos, if the rich are using other rich people for connections and shady shit maybe don't have a brand on your skin that serves as proof.

Marnye was quite frankly full of shit half the time but her actions do fit into her previous behaviour but if she actually falls in love with them by the end of the series in a HEA I'm going to need some serious revenge and redemption/ character development for both her and the guys.

Also am I the only one to notice she broke her promise when she told Miranda that she was the one who told Creed that she was gay, he explicitly told her when he won the second round of poker that Miranda was not to know that Marnye told Creed who she was dating. What they did at graduation was not about her breaking that bet so did they just forget??? or did the author let that detail slip.

I understand that this book is a building block book for the second which will (hopefully) be much better but I'm still a little skeptical if I didn't like this specific combo of RH, academy, bully/ enemies to lovers, I would not be reading this.

I'm not sure if I can say id recommend this book till after reading the second one. 3 stars.

The series overall I would give 3 stars. It’s a bit hard to believe that these kids are high schoolers. Like a 15 year old rockstar doesn’t sound very believable. I wish the author aged them up a bit to maybe university or something.
