Had a hard time connecting with him. Really did not like the way he treated to break up her and how they got back together.

In a bid to save her family, Liliana reaches out to the most prominent drug lord in Desolation – Matteo Amato. Little did she know that her request would lead to an obsession with her life. Matteo's presence instills a sense of protection and confidence in Liliana, which is admirable. Their unique dynamic creates an electrifying push-and-pull tension that culminates in a chemistry that is simply amazing!

Things to know
Praise / Degradation / age-gap (15 years) / Power play dynamics / kidnapping / biting / marking / hand necklaces / On Page Violence / gore/ torture / murder / Anal / Somnophilia / light spit play / virgin heroine

Jenika Snow gives another fantastic dark and spicy mafia book with Say My Name.

There’s not much redeemable about Mateo except for the fact he’d do anything to protect Liliana. Meanwhile, Liliana is so sweet that she’s ready to trade just about anything to keep her father and brother safe despite how they abuse her.

Check the trigger warnings as this is a captive romance.

Mateo has a filthy mouth and an extremely dominant presence, and Liliana fights her body’s desire to submit to him.

This book is definitely more delicious smut than plot, but it’s a book you’ll love if you are in your Villain era.

This was a quick and steamy read filled with chemistry and action. Matteo was unhinged and he became possessive and over protective when he unexpectedly fell hard for the daughter and sister of men who owe him money. I loved that Liliana bought out a different side to him, he was sweet and would have done anything for her.

I do wish there was more depth to the connection between the two of them and the character development (particularly Matteo). He discarded her, telling himself it was to protect her however and it felt a little rushed towards the end for me. I craved more grovel from Matteo, he was so cruel and she accepted him back so easily.

This one was okay. Very dirty story with pretty low angst in my opinion. Had a bit of a hard time connecting to the MC’s, especially Matteo, but they both grew a bit on me by the end of the book.
