O yüzden tüm suçu Nüve'ye atamıyorum ama evet genel olarak 5/5 olmama nedeni bunlara dayanıyor.
Haricinde Peter V. Brett'in kalemini ve hayalgücünü ÇOK ama ç o k seviyorum: İblis Döngüsü serisi bazı kitaplarına rağmen aklımızı çıkaran inanılmaz başarılı kurgusu, zekice işlenmiş detayları, sarılmak isteyeceğim kadar çok sevdiğim ya da bir kaşık suda boğmak istediğim karakterleri ve özellikle büyüleri/muhafazaları ve iblisleri, şarkılarıyla benden tam puan aldı.
Az önce de demiştim mesela kendimi huzursuz hissettiğim zamanlarda havaya bir muhafaza çiziyorum, işte bu his var ya? Paha biçilemez bir şey ve tamamen yazarın başarısı. Sırf bu yüzden seriye tam puan. Az cesaretli olsaydım hayranlar gibi dövmesini yaptırmak isterdim, biz havaya oraya buraya çizmeye devam şimdilik.

Perfect ending to the series! I absolutely loved this one, almost as much as book one.

I mean, I know there was no other way for the series to wrap up really. But I was still sad, and I still cried a whole lot. I cried harder at the end of book 4, but I'm still sad. I enjoyed the Demon Cycle...what am I going to do now?

**The Core** concludes the **Demon Cycle** series by *Peter Brett*, and it was a disappointment to me. While we still get a couple of cool side characters, the main cast has grown unrelatable to me. The story often felt like a mix of fanfiction and a detailed narration of a video game: hack, slash, get your dreams, feel a bit of mandatory doubt and off you go to your heroic journey, filled with never-too-difficult enemies. The bit of relevant character development itself (Renna, mostly) seemed to have taken place between books.
Also, we get a whole new generation of kids, just for the sake of it, it seems. They take up an inordinate amount of pages (pregnancy, birth, carrying them around) for no contribution, really. I hope they're not meant to be the tie-in for a sequel series. They felt as cringe-y as the Harry Potter kids, down to the names.
In conclusion: I really liked the first book in the series, and the following books felt middling-to-good. This one didn't even reach this level. A good part of that may be that my patience with the vastly annoying and stereotyped Krasians (a vaguely muslimic hurr-durr warrior culture) never paid off, but I'll spare you the rant about that.

The Demon Cycle has been one of my favorite series of late. It does a wonderful job of mixing fantasy and superpowers in a kind of zombie-type apocalypse scenario and the action is abundant. And Brett can write action well too.
There's plenty to nitpick in the series (ent it true?) and this last volume sure did find its way to wend the story, arguably that trail was a bit too windy. At the same time, I always find it hard to begrudge the fact that I get to spend more time in this glorious world, even if it could have been more succinct and streamlined. I feel like editors start giving a pass once a series gets so popular (I'm looking at you Stephen King's editors...).
In the end, I thought this was a great ending to one of my favorite series. This is one of the few I would drop everything to read the latest book that came out ... and then finish 10 months later (definitely deserved that nitpick). This was no less dazzling.

A convoluted but satisfying ending to this series (I only say convoluted because the amount of characters has increased w/ every book).
A tad disappointed by the final chapter. Kind of felt the battle to the core would be more intense.
