If This Gets Out is your typical YA romance about two members of a boyband discovering themselves as they fall in love with one another. I thought this book did a decent job exploring how hard it is to feel seen as your true self when you're forced to hide it from millions of people. This book is dual POV which I think could have worked well in theory however I often struggled to feel two distinct voices narrating the story. Often, I had to flip back to the beginning of the chapter just to remind myself which POV I was reading. Despite this, I did thoroughly enjoy If This Gets Out! If your looking for a wholesome (slightly slow burn?) YA romance novel then I think you'll like this book.
Although this felt a little bit like something else I've read (though for the life of me I can't remember what it is...) I really enjoyed it! I liked the bandmates, I really loved the look at fans and fandom, and I especially appreciated that this could have veered too much into a fanfiction of a certain boyband, it never felt that way.

This book was not written well. The tropes and plot points were painful to read at times. The main characters were incredibly frustrating. I had fun with this book but for all the wrong reasons - never coming back to the 1D fanfiction disguised as an original work
reads like fanfiction, storyline like fanfiction but none of the grammar and spelling mistakes

Soooo good and so well written!! Obviously Zach and Ruben were adorable, but I especially loved how the other 2 band members were super well fleshed out too and had their own plot lines. All 4 of the boys felt like real people to me ya know???? Love !!

what in the wattpad fanfic did i js read 😭 can’t even hate bc i read it to scratch a lil itch i had..
alsothere’s no way ZACH is a top sorry
kinda preachy, the parts where they tried to be progressive but ended up coming across very surface level and then never went into it again (ex. when there’s a random paragraph about Catholicism and being gay and it’s so shallow bc they’re just like “Jon and Ruben went into a DEEP discussion about it and came to an understanding! He’s such an ally!”😭😭) remind me of “The Impossible Vastness of Us” (which was worse than this)
