Starts off decent but continues to feel like it was ripped off of 2013 era Wattpad (y’all know what I mean). Angel is the best form of comic relief but I feel like his storyline distracted from the actually main point too much (could just be me). Ending was a bit rushed and the last line, seriously? Anyway yeah. Just go on ao3 and search any boy band members and you’ll get this pretty much.

I have read If this gets out by Sophie Gonzales and Cale Dietrich. I read a copy from the library. Read this for the Magical Readathon for Shapeshifting with the prompt: read from author who blurbed your last 5 star read. This is a young adult contemporary romance book with LGBTQ+ characters.

This book was just okay unfortunately. I enjoyed the beginning, especially the characters. I did not like the story though. It was very bleek and depressing. The romance was very much in the background. So I mainly gave this a high rating because of the characters.

The book was a lot of fun, taking clear inspiration from 1 Direction Fandom. Not QUITE fic with the serial numbers shaved off, but close enough to Jazz in terms of plot.

Despite two different authors working on the different chapters, I found Zach and Ruben pretty interchangeable. Most of the time I found it pretty hard to distinguish between who was talking up until a major character trait like "Abusive Mum" or "Song Lyricist" was mentioned.

I don't think the series was BAD. I just think it could have been written better.
