funny medium-paced

The Singles Game is the story of a professional tennis player who has a typically career-ending injury, but works to tour stronger than before.  The reader is taken along the journey of recovery, love interests, player/coach dynamics, family conflicts, and tour drama amongst the players.

I loved this book, but I think I appreciated it more because I'm a tennis player and reading books about tennis always gives me motivation to go hit. The story was interesting, and while there were some obvious predictions to be made, the plot was not written in a predictable style.  There were interesting sub-plots, likeable characters, conflicts were resolved in a way that was final while still leaving room for interpretation.

Obviously very tennis heavy, which is a sport I know very little about, but it still kept my interest. I wouldn’t say it’s a ‘must read!’ but I found myself wanting to find out what would happen next.

This was just okay.
It is partly my fault as I didn't realise this is women's fiction.
But other then that, the pacing in this is very slow. I was bored most of the time and the main character was not very likeable to begin with.
