3 stars mainly because there was a pointless and heart-wrenching third act breakup that was drawn out for multiple chapters, then when they finally got back together there was less than 2 chapters (including the epilogue) of them happy and together.

This book was well written but I really didn’t love the characters. They were both toxic AF (and not in a good way)

Why do people rave about this series? This book is so bad I can’t believe I wasted my time on it. The writing is terrible, the sentences are so choppy and the characters are insufferable.

2.5 stars. overall not great- conversations and dialogue were so unrealistic, relationship itself felt more toxic than anything & the characters didn’t seem to have much chemistry honestly. usually i can excuse all of that is the spicy parts are good but i didn’t feel like the intimate scenes were great either, probs would not read again & wont read the next book either

I think I need to stop reading about super rich, hot guys who have a tendency to be assholes. This started out to be a totally engrossing story and had amazing, steamy scenes. I was totally here for it. Emily and Jameson met on a flight and had a stopover together, and happen to find each other again after a year with no contact. There were great additional side plots. BUT!-minor spoilers ahead-I have some very big issues with this book.

There’s somethings I just can’t get behind.

Jameson was a total manipulative asshole to Emily. When he was sweet, he was totally sweet. But not every strong CEO has to be a dickhead, especially to his love interest. I was so, so deeply disappointed of how he treated Emily-and repeatedly! Emily was a pretty strong FMC and held her own, and even fought back, but how disappointing that a man could treat a woman like that (especially a rich, powerful man), and she takes him back? She even rejected him multiple times, and he didn’t listen to her (or really respect her). That didn’t scream love to me-it screamed manipulation, and abuse. I loved this story until the last 30%. If you’ve ever had a partner treat you badly, especially verbally or being neglectful-then come running back to you, this may not be the story for you. I totally felt the hurt that Emily was feeling.
