i think the pace in this book was good enough, definitely better in comparison to other books i've read these days cause i've been reading alot that are just reeaallyy slow paced for no reason. the whole "we are not alone in the universe" and its actually terrifying monsters genuinely caught me off guard, so that was something new too because i feel like i never get surprised with media anymore which gets a little tiring. and while it wasn't completely and utterly unique or a new concept at all, i genuinely enjoyed reading it and was very entertained. a non-OP main character was a breath of fresh air to me especially being so used to characters that can burn down entire countries or control time or freeze everything - great.

This was a fun read. Definitely sci-if thriller vibes. The book kept you on edge and engaged the entire time and I really enjoyed getting to know the characters.

I think a 3.5 seems fair.
"MY PARENTS WOULD KILL ME if they caught me reading manga at one in the morning" Honestly same.
Don't get me wrong i was hooked but some things didnt sit well.
Like SPOILERS AHEAD
a trained guard being kidnapped first thought was mmmmh this guy is hot.
Also u discovered u had powers and that ur parents lied to you and you didnt had a mental breakdown.
Also Cage asking are WE okay?? Like sir, as far as i can tell there is no WE.

Kenzie works as a junior prison guard at Sanctuary, a prison for young super powered criminals. When some of the criminals attempt to break out, Kenzie becomes their prisoner. However the escape attempt doesn't go as planned because something is inside Sanctuary and its after them. Sanctuary could get tense at points. The characters know that something is there but not what it is and why it is there. Kenzie is a citizen of the corporation Omnistellar Concepts. At first she believes in the corporation but soon she starts to question those beliefs. A tense thrilling novel for fans of science fiction and horror.
