An enthralling modernization of [b:Carmilla|48037|Carmilla|J. Sheridan Le Fanu|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1657795822l/48037._SY75_.jpg|47015]. Great character arcs with impactful Asian vampire lore infused with the original book's European vampire lore. Good use of real NYC location awareness of gentrification, unhoused youth, murder, etc. Beautiful panels throughout. Wish the ending didn't go by so quickly.

Art is gorgeous but the cover feels like false advertising. Also Morgan deserved better

It was a nice quick read. I do wish we could have gotten more vampire and Chinese lore. The plots also felt rushed. The chemistry between Violet/Carmilla and Athena was not that convincing. Love the dragon towards the end though.
