thriller forbidden love story
I really enjoyed reading this! Didn’t realize was book 2 in a standalone series. The darkness was perfect and not a turnoff compared to the budding, forbidden love. It all worked so well together.

Thw writing is very sparse, I can't connect with the characters. The Fmc could be from another planet, but she sounds like an american, and I don't like how her Ukrainian background is used in the story.
Every character os one note, and I can't feel any chemistry from the Mcs , specially because every romantic scene between them I've read to this point is from his POV and it's very flat and distant. Finally, feels like the gothic vibes is inexistent.

So I do think I liked the second book more. They have the same gothic, spooky vibe to them. There is a small mystery aspect to it but I think the first one played out a bit better. But comparatively this one played out throughout the book better than the first one. I think I could do a lot of comparing and contrasting to this one and find a lot of differences but I think I could find a lot of similarities. But again I liked the first one more. I’m still looking for THAT Sophie Lark book for me and hope that one day I’ll find it.

"...drenched with rain, bloodied, furious, and fucking gorgeous."
The Monarch hotel was the perfect setting for this romance. Elena and Atlas were meant to be with undeniable chemistry. And the love between Ivy and Elena was so sweet.
