I loved this, absolutely adored and devoured it. Loved it even more than the first book in this series, I'd say.

I was excited for Madigan's story and this one did not disappoint. The other assassin we met at the end of book one, Az, has actually been in Madi's life a lot longer than we're lead to think.

In this we find out that about three years or so, maybe a little less, to the present day in this one, these two met and fucked - without knowing the other was an assassin on the same job.

After they fucked, though, Az did some snooping and found out and sabotaged Madi from doing the job, getting one up on him so he could do it himself.

Thus started years of fierce competition between the two to one up each other to get a kill first, if they were at the same place at the same time doing the same kill. So every few months or so. Andddd of course, whenever they were in the vicinity, they would still fuck each other.

There was alway something more with them, but they are ruthless assassins and they obviously don't know how to emotion well at all, so it takes quite awhile for them to realize feelings have emerged, especially on Madi's side.

But because of this deadpool list, they're both after these high profile, big money kills and the competition remains, even as they can't keep their hands off each other...and until Az, who is a tad more in touch with his feelings - not saying much though, as he isn't too much better than Madi himself - is starting to realize said feelings before Madi and proposes that they work together and split the money.

Madi is weary but ultimately agrees - because he too, can't stay away from Az when the opportunity presents itself.

But these are two idiots in love, and on top of that...mostly cold-hearted assassins, so they don't play by normal rules. And they don't trust easy.

When things go a little tits up during a job, things get rocky, and their feelings are tested. But as they've been spending more and more time together, the feelings are starting to become apparent to them, and they can't hide from them for long.

I loved this, I loved these two together. The chemistry was spot on, the sex scenes were hot AF and exactly as dirty as the the title suggests ;). And there was also love under all of it, unending, forever type of love, that these two needed some help to figure out and deal with.

See, even assassins can find true love ;).

Just a top notch second installment and my favorite so far. Interesting that the next one is about Soren and Eastman (a new character in this one who play a role in helping them take down the bad guy...or should I say...even badder guy lol) and I can't wait.

I absolutely love this series so far, and I loved these two together a bunch. Two MASSIVE thumbs up from me.

Highly recommend!

This story was fantastic! It has everything you want from an assassin thriller - fast pacing, tension, fun characters, believable chemistry/high heat, strong world building, and more. Onley and Neve are ridiculously talented at writing morally ambiguous (and sometimes downright immoral) men you probably shouldn’t like much less root for, and yet you can’t help but become invested in them. The chemistry between Madigan and Az is insane from the first chapter and builds throughout the story. You’ll initially think, how in the heck could these two end up in a committed relationship? And then they come together in the most perfect way. There are several cameos in the book of characters from the first book and a continuation of a plot line from that book. I can’t wait for more in the series and it sounds like the third book is already being written. I’m loving these books!

the enemies to lovers assassin story I needed. chefs kiss from start to finish.

I enjoyed this even more than the first one. Enemies-to-lovers and hate sex are two of my favorite tropes so I was set up to love it. Nothing extraordinary plot wise, but I didn’t mind at all. The steam was on point.

Brilliant sequel!

Two hot alpha types and they are not afraid to go after what they want - each other. Az and Madi made a brilliant team, whether in bed or taking out their targets (as assassins are wont to do

A stunningly brilliant second installment

Jeeeze that was spectacularly good. I loved book one but this took the series into a whole other level.

I'm not sure where I want to start with reviewing this one - the plotting perfection, the adrenaline rush, the chemistry between our two assassins, the banter or their dysfunctional family of equally dubious characters.

I've also surprisingly discovered a fascination for a new kink that I honestly wouldn't have ever gone looking for.

Done here, it was so integral to the relationship between Azrael and Madigan that it never felt like it was a specific thing, it was just them.

And there was something deeply primal about the feelings it created, which enforces the bond between them.

As with book one, I felt the narrative was totally satisfying, the bad guys were a genuine threat and tensions ebbed and flowed throughout.

New characters were introduced and intriguing and I totally did not match up the next pairing at all.

I had my eye on another potential partner for the good doctor of psychology so that gives me hope for a book for too!

Just gutted book three isn't getting here until May
