Of Neptune

I enjoyed this book. Though I found the book unnecessary because I think that in Of Triton the problems that had risen had been solved. I think that Reed's infatuation with Emma wasn't needed and it reminded me of Jacob from Twilight, since they weren't proper competition for the main character's love.
I absolutely loved the ending, it was cute and romantic. It was my favorite chapter in the book. I also liked how Emma and Galen progressed as characters.

I'm giving this 3 1/2 stars. This was probably my favorite out of the series and have to say I really liked the ending. I would mark the MP3 version I listened to a 1 star because parts of the book were MISSING! Ugh! It was especially annoying because there was one crucial part where a character is rescued and that part is completely missing! So beware of the Blackstone MP3 audio version!

The story itself was really good. A new potential love interest named Reed is introduced who really makes Emma think about her choice to "marry" Galen. I thought out of all three books, the story was most compelling in this one. Kudos to this author for not having overly sensual scenes in the book and no swearing that I remember in the book. Fun YA series that comes to a great conclusion!

This book made me really sad. I loved the first two books of the series, Of Poseidon and Of Triton. LOVED. I was excited to pick up the final book in the series and see how Galen and Emma's journey finally ends. Unfortunately, this book was such a disappointment. The story felt forced and completely unnecessary. I honestly would have been happy if this would have been a two book series and this book never existed.

The ONE redeeming quality is the epilogue. It is beautiful and exactly what I needed to feel all the closure for one of my favorite YA couples. I just wish I could delete Of Neptune entirely and just tack on the epilogue to the end of Of Triton. That would have been perfect.

I enjoyed the conclusion to the Syrena Legacy. I did feel like this book was a bit silly though, because really only the last hundred pages or so had anything that moved the story along plot-wise. I feel like an extended epilogue could have been released instead of a whole book. That being said, it didn't take long at all to read and was still enjoyable, even though it was a bit superfluous. That is really all I have to say about this book.

I do recommend this trilogy for mermaid lovers who are looking for a light read that won't take too much time to get through. You could marathon the trilogy in two days if you wanted to. Cute story, and I love mermaids, so I definitely don't regret picking this one up.

I will state up front that I don't remember much from the first two books in this series. That being said, I felt like this was an unnecessary addition. I was not a fan of the love triangle that wasn't really a love triangle that was shoehorned into the final book, and I didn't love that the two characters who you were meant to be rooting for and falling for spent nearly the entirety of this book apart. I get what the author was trying to do, but it fell flat for me personally and I spent a lot of time being annoyed with nearly everyone in the book. However, the epilogue made up for some of it, and it was very easy to get through (even on audio, which can take me a bit longer), so I'm settling for three stars here, even though objectively I could probably go a bit lower. Glad to cross this series off my list, but I wish the ending had been more fun to read.

I absolutely loved the first two books and I thought the end of the second was great. I got so excited when I saw there was a third one because I didn't want Galen and Emma's story to end. But I did not like how it seemed to be heading into a love triangle very fast. I was very annoyed with Emma through the entire book and hated how unconcerned she was up until the last few chapters of the book.
In the end it ended how I wanted it to and there was some pretty good action scenes, but it definitely was not my favorite book in the trilogy.

This was such an amazing and perfect ending to the Syrena Legacy. Full review over here: https://rickusbookshelf.wordpress.com/2015/08/28/of-neptune-by-anna-banks-syrena-legacy-3/

I am going to pass on this out of nowhere love triangle. The last book tied up the story pretty well and I was satisfied with the ending.

I did read the epilogue just to make sure all was well.

It’s as cute as the rest of the series. Poor Galen had a ROUGH time of it this book and Reed was a pushy jerk seeing as she JUST MET THE DUDE LITERALLY DAYS AGO.

The ending was supremely cheese but I’ll accept a sappy happy ending today. It’s a 3 star read but I was 4 star happy.

In this book, a lost city of half breeds and Syrena and humans all live in peace.  Emma and Galen are directed to this part of the world after Emma's grandfather tells her there is something there she might be interested in.  And boy is he right.  And then comes it.  A fight and separation.  Emma is with a half-breed named Reed who has a love interest in Emma.  And Galen on the other hand desires to return to the ocean to tell the kingdoms what he and Emma have found.

I liked this book.  Could have done without the almost/kinda love triangle.  I didn't see it other than to add anger needed for later in the book.  The tension Emma makes for great drama.  Also, see more of why Rachel's death is such a turning point for Galen who just wants to protect Emma.  I wish this book had more of the city of Neptune explored.  I also wish there was more about the possible exposure of Syrenaian to the humans who did not know about the fish creatures.  You see the nervousness about the future for both Emma and Galen so I liked that cause it leads up to the fight that really kicked off the story.

Overall the book was laid out nicely.  The one thing I didn't like was the epilogue.  I wished there was just most to it.  I wish we got a chance to see how the kingdoms interacted with Neptune.  That's just the truth of the matter.
